Total bill for one person
Four days from and to Santa Marta, without a hotel in Santa Marta. Drinks at the camps: water and beer are sold, budget USD 5 to 8 a day. Mule: only where offered, for your backpack, shared with others; operators do not state prices, USD 40 to 60 for the whole trek is usual. Tips: around 10 percent. Guide values from the product data and operator notes; a question mark means “not mentioned in the inclusions”.

Entrance fee: everyone pays it, three do not mention it
The Parque Arqueológico Teyuna is administered by the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History (ICANH); the entrance fee is settled through the operator together with the registration of your passport details, nobody pays it at the gate. That is exactly why it is odd that Expotur, Turcol and Magic Tour do not list it in their inclusions: Expotur marks “admission included” in the itinerary, Magic Tour mentions it in the description, Turcol nowhere. In practice it is in the price with all of them – if you want to be sure, ask by message before booking. We list it as “open” because we only show what is in the data.
Mule: the item that makes the trek easier
Mules work the route, carrying supplies to the camps – and, for a fee, backpacks. Econnection offers this for packs up to 10 kg “on quote”, Magic Tour lists it as an exclusion (so bookable), Expotur expressly excludes “help to carry luggage”. The others say nothing. If you walk with six to eight kilos of day gear you do not need one; if you carry a camera, four days of spare clothes and two litres of water, you notice the difference on the first climb. Settle the price on the spot, in pesos, before the start in El Mamey.
Getting there, pickup, drop-off
All products start in Santa Marta, either with hotel pickup or at the operator's office. Pickup zones differ: Baquianos collects in Centro, Rodadero, Taganga and Pozos Colorados; Econnection also in Bello Horizonte and as far as La Aguacatera on the coast road; Impulse already charges extra for Taganga. Minca and Palomino: Econnection starts or ends in Minca free of charge (both together COP 80,000); Expotur drops you near Minca, Palomino or the Tayrona park at the end; To'Buru takes you to Palomino per its itinerary and charges USD 50 each way for pickup there. If you are heading to the beach after the trek, the right product saves you a return journey.
Questions about cost and inclusions
Why does Impulse cost almost double?
One more day, a group of up to eight instead of sixteen, pickup and entrance fee in the list – and presumably an agency margin. Whether that is worth the surcharge is decided by the fifth day: if you want to split the long return, the platform offers no other choice.
Is Baquianos really cheaper, or is something missing?
The list is decent: park fees, three nights, all meals, private vehicle, pickup. What is missing is insurance (nobody but Econnection names it) and the certainty of an English-speaking guide rather than a translator. The price is genuine.
Do I have to pay in pesos?
At the camps, yes. ATMs are in Santa Marta, not in El Mamey. For four days, 200,000 to 300,000 pesos in cash covers drinks, charging and tips; mule extra.
